Can dogs eat apples? Absolutely! Many dogs of all breeds love apples. This healthy treat contains calcium, vitamin K, vitamins A and C, pectin (soluble fibre), and antioxidants.

As with all treats, moderation avoids stomach upset. Wash apples to remove pesticides and serve in moderation. One small apple has 52 calories. Treats should be under 10% of daily calories. Remove the core, seeds, and stem, and cut into small pieces. Besides being a sweet treat, the crunchy texture helps clean teeth and freshen breath!

But Can Dogs Eat Green Apples?

Yes, green apples are actually better for dogs than red. Green apples (like Granny Smith) have less sugar and carbs, making them a healthier choice.

Remove the core/seeds. Apple seeds have trace cyanide, and the core is a choking risk.

Can Dogs Eat Apple Skin?

Apple skin isn't toxic, but always wash it to remove pesticides or wax. Cut into small pieces to avoid choking, especially for puppies.

Can Dogs Eat Apple Cores?

Avoid the core—it contains seeds and stems. Apple seeds have cyanogenic glycosides causing upset in large amounts. Cores can also choke if not chewed properly.

Can Dogs Eat Dehydrated Apple?

Be cautious with dehydrated apples. They hold all the nutrients but no water, so feed little bits to prevent upset.

The crunchy texture of apples can help clean teeth and freshen breath!
