1. Sardines. Keep a bag of these little fish—rich in omega-3s EPA and DHA—in your freezer and dole them out frozen. They'll go crazy for these healthy treats! Dogs also love canned sardines—choose a variety packed in water with no salt. Treated once a week, sardines are a great whole-food fish oil boost!

3. Popcorn. Air-popped popcorn is a healthy treat to share! Skip butter and salt; instead dust with "vegan crack" (nutritional yeast) for a non-dairy nutty-cheesy taste you both love. Avoid unpopped kernels and never give baker's yeast.

4. Cottage cheese. Take your dog's dinner to flavour town with a spoon of cottage cheese. A great way to add protein and calcium. Give only a small amount, as it's dairy and can upset some stomachs.

5. Sweet potatoes. Dogs love this sweet tuber. In our experience, they even like the skin when baked! Add a bit of baked or boiled sweet potato to dinner, or find our easy dehydrated sweet potato chews recipe.

6. Coconut. Organic coconut pieces, sliced and dehydrated. Dogs love the naturally sweet taste, which is great for health—high in fiber and healthy fats for a glossy coat, among other benefits. Choose a nothing-added, unsweetened variety, such as Cocotherapy's Coconut Chips.
